The Amadeus Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1968 by Agnieszka Duczmal in Poznań and has been an official orchestra of the Polish Radio since 1977, proving its excellent quality on international tours. Since 2009, the orchestra has been led by Agnieszka's daughter Anna Duczmal-Mróz, who also conquers podiums outside of Poland. On this release she takes turns conducting with her mother and is particularly impressive with the last piece, the concise, 20-minute string symphony (1964) by Laks, in which the composer pulls out all the stops of his abilities and makes full use of the traditional possibilities of a string orchestra. Not only the fabulous passacaglia of the second movement achieves Bartókian qualities - a truly fantastic work! The recording technology and the detailed, but not overloaded booklet text by Frank Harders-Wuthenow also leave nothing to be desired, so that this new territory is presented in the best possible way.
